Alcohols used as a carrier for food colourings and flavourings are permissible as long as they are not sourced from dates or grapes.

Wrigley's Statement:
"Skittles Fruits are suitable for Halal. Skittles Sours and Skittles Wildberry are not suitable for Halal."

Starburst -
Wrigley's Statement:
"Starburst Originals and Starburst Sours are suitable for Halal."

We have asked for clarification on criteria applied for suitability regarding  these two lines, and Wrigleys advised that they  are not able to disclose further information on the composition of the products.  

Foodguide cannot then comment further on suitability where the information is not available to us..
